Our Business

Compound Semiconductors
Compound semiconductor epitaxial wafers are used in a variety of commercial applications including wireless communications, LED manufacturing and solar energy conversion.  Sumika Electronic Materials, Inc. manufactures custom epitaxial wafers using MOCVD (Metalorganic Chemical Vapor Deposition) in our state-of-the-art facility in Phoenix, AZ.  From development to high volume manufacturing, our growth processes have been proven to produce wafers with the high level of uniformity and reproducibility necessary for demanding applications.
Semiconductor Process Materials
Photoresist is a photosensitive material used to produce patterns for production of semiconductor devices, thin film heads for disk drives, MEMs and other devices. Sumitomo Chemical produces a complete range of products to support all exposure wavelengths from broadband through e-beam including our latest immersion ArF products to meet the requirements of 22nm designs.  Our photoresist product line has received high praise worldwide for excellent performance and quality.
Super Engineering Plastics
Polyether Sulfone (PES) is increasingly being used not only for its main application as a molding material for electronic parts, but also in other fields including as hollow fiber membranes for semiconductor and food manufacturing processes, owing to its superior separation and sterilization abilities, and transparent conductive films for liquid crystal cells used in portable telephones.

Liquid Crystal Polymers (LCP) provide high temperature stability, excellent electrical properties, superior moldability and other key properties.  Developed for electronic applications such as high speed connectors, bobbins, HB-LED's and semiconductor packaging.  New polymers continue to be developed to meet the high demands of market place.
