Compound Semiconductors
MO epitaxy wafer is a chemical semiconductor compound material used primarily for mobile communication devices, which are expected to see continuous growth of demand in the future. Sumitomo Chemical has developed a mass production facility for manufacturing larger-diameter wafers, based on its proprietary technology and design. The commercial facility has demonstrated a very high level of uniformity and reproducibility for manufacturing wafers with 4, 5 or 6 inch-diameters.
Semiconductor Process Materials
Photoresist is a photosensitive material used for the micro-lithography of ICs. Sumitomo Chemical has developed an ultra high-resolution ArF photoresist which satisfies the requirements of 90nm design. Our photoresist product line has received high marks worldwide for excellent performance.
Super Engineering Plastics
Polyether Sulfone (PES) is increasingly being used not only for its main application as a molding material for electronic parts, but also in other fields including as hollow fiber membranes for semiconductor and food manufacturing processes, owing to its superior separation and sterilization abilities, and transparent conductive films for liquid crystal cells used in portable telephones.
